Mysticism, THE KYBALION and The White Owl
s\\

Wikipedia defines Mysticism as the following:
Mysticism is "a constellation of distinctive practices, discourses, texts, institutions, traditions, and experiences aimed at human transformation, variously defined in different traditions."
The term "mysticism" has Ancient Greek origins, with various, historically determined meanings. Derived from theGreek μυω, meaning "to conceal",it referred to the biblical, the liturgical and the spiritual or contemplative dimensions in early and medieval Christianity, and became associated with "extraordinary experiences and states of mind" in the early modern period.
In modern times, "mysticism" has acquired a limited definition, but a broad application,as meaning the aim at the "union with the Absolute, the Infinite, or God". This limited definition has been applied to a wide range of religious traditions and practices.
Since the 1960s, a scholarly debate has been ongoing in the scientific research of "mystical experiences" between perennial and constructionist approaches.
We believe that Evelyn Underhill’s definition of mysticism is by far the loveliest and most accurate. Underhill defines mysticism as “the science or art of the spiritual life." It is the expression of the innate tendency of the human spirit towards complete harmony with the transcendental order; whatever be the theological formula under which that order is understood.
"Mind (as well as metals and elements) may be transmuted,
from state to state; degree to degree; condition to condition;
pole to pole; vibration to vibration. True Hermetic Transmutation is a Mental Art."-The Kybalion.
Nothing is more mystical to us at The GS5 than THE KYBALION.
Learning and Living by THE SEVEN HERMETIC PRINCIPLES is a door way to a higher vibrational
frequency.
"The Principles of Truth are Seven; he who knows these, understandingly, possesses the Magic Key before whose touch all the Doors of the Temple fly open."—The Kybalion.
The Seven Hermetic Principles, upon which the entire Hermetic Philosophy is based, are as follows:
1. The Principle of Mentalism. 2. The Principle of Correspondence. 3. The Principle of Vibration. 4. The Principle of Polarity. 5. The Principle of Rhythm. 6. The Principle of Cause and Effect. 7. The Principle of Gender.
Regardless of your beliefs or religious backgrounds the beauty and mystery of the mystical intrigues us all. Certain music, images and colors can transport us.
The use of mood altering drugs are often used to reach mystical realms but they are not needed. GS5 does not recommend the use of mood altering drugs for any reason. “Clean Transportation” can easily be achieved.
Matter is but a form of energy and energy can be transferred and manipulated.
“Mastery consists not in abnormal dreams, visions and fantastic imaginings or
living, but in using the higher forces against the lower-escaping
the pains of the lower planes by vibrating on the higher.”--The Kybalion.
"The Universe is Mental—held in the Mind of THE ALL."—The Kybalion.
“THE ALL is SPIRIT! But what is Spirit? This question cannot be answered, for the reason that its definition is practically that of THE ALL, which cannot be explained or defined. Spirit is simply a name that men give to the highest conception of Infinite Living Mind—it means "the Real Essence"—it means Living Mind, as much superior to Life and Mind as we know them, as the latter are superior to mechanical Energy and Matter. Spirit transcends our understanding, and we use the term merely that we may think or speak of THE ALL. For the purposes of thought and understanding, we are justified in thinking of Spirit as Infinite Living Mind, at the same time acknowledging that we cannot fully understand it. We must either do this or stop thinking of the matter at all.” -The Kybalion.
Keeping in mind that the universe is mental reaching a higher plane of existence, relaxation or awake lucid dreams is not really as mystical as it seems. This leads us to the Second Hermetic Principle.
“The great Second Hermetic Principle embodies the truth that there is a harmony, agreement, and correspondence between the several planes of Manifestation, Life and Being. This truth is a truth because all that is included in the Universe emanates from the same source, and the same laws, principles, and characteristics apply to each unit, or combination of units, of activity, as each manifests its own phenomena upon its own plane.
For the purpose of convenience of thought and study, the Hermetic Philosophy considers that the Universe may be divided into three great classes of phenomena, known as the Three Great Planes, namely:
1. The Great Physical Plane.
2. The Great Mental Plane.
3. The Great Spiritual Plane.
"Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates”
The Kybalion-“
Entering the ETHER:
The Kybalion Teaches that Matter is but a form of Energy.
“The Ether, a substance of extreme tenuity and elasticity, pervading all Universal Space, and acting as a medium for the transmission of waves of energy, such as light, heat, electricity, etc. This Ethereal Substance forms a connecting link between Matter (so-called) and Energy, and partakes of the nature of each. The Hermetic Teachings, however, instruct that this plane has seven sub-divisions (as have all of the Minor Planes), and that in fact there are seven ethers, instead of but one.” -The Kybalion
Mystical Animals - The Owl & The White Owl

According to some Christian tradition, owls represent the wisdom of Christ.
Christian Gnostics believe the owl is associated with Lilith, the first wife of Adam who refused his advances and control.
The owl had a place as a symbol in the King Arthurian legends since the sorcerer Merlin was always depicted with an owl on his shoulder.
In Japan, owl pictures and figurines are placed in homes to ward off famine or epidemics.
We believe owls to be cleansers of negative energy.
In Native American culture, many tribes looked to owls for wisdom and protection and would even wear their feathers as talismans. Owls were considered in many cultures to be bearers of news or even what some call A psychopomp which is a spirit that takes a person from life to the underworld after death. They act as a guide to the otherworld.
The Pawnee Tribes view the owl as a symbol of protection. To the Ojibwa Tribes they are a symbol of evil and death, as well as a symbol of very high status of spiritual leaders of their religion. The Pueblo Tribes associate owls with Skeleton Man, the god of death and spirit of fertility.
Within New Age Thinking owls are often seen as spirit guides.
Owls are our friends and should be respected and honored just as any other animal that lives on Earth. If the owl spirit guide comes to you, be aware and willing to learn from him. Heed the message that the owl spirit guide is sending to you.
To us the white owl represents Fertility and Purity. Looking into even just a picture of a white owls eyes can send you to a most peaceful dream state.
